The Kopelman Shapiro Velinsky families' genealogy web site
Welcome to the Velinsky family's genealogy web site.
This web site will try to present the genealogy history of the four Velinsky siblings,
Gele, Mollye, Sam and David, who were born, probably, in Vilna Lithuania (part of Poland untill October 1939),
during the second half of the 19th century.
Their parents named Pesach and maybe Adina.
As far as we know, they had 236 descendents (and still counting...), living in Israel, United States and Sweden.
Gele Velinsky, who was born around 1870-1875 married Mejer Kopelman from Bialystok Poland.
They had 4 children: Pesah (b. 1896), Mejlach (b. 1900), Rivka (b. about 1904) and Sara (b. about 1906).
Their descendants are the Kopelman, Person, Lindstrom, Malbin, Yessodi, Amiran and Vishner families.
Molly Velinsky, the second sister, married Isaac Shapiro and immigrate to Shreveport Louisiana.
They had 2 children: Paul (b. 1901) and Elizabeth Libby (b. 1904).
Their descendants are the Shapiro, Lipson, Fleschman, Zielonka, Vink and Segall families.
Sam Velinsky born in 1879, married Lena and lived in USA.
They had 6 children: Yetta, Morris, Paul, Bessie, Rose and a boy died at age 13.
Their descendants are the Maizlish, Hodes, Sachs, Feinberg, Fagin, Jaslow, Gilbert, Milender and Shwartz families.
David Lejb Vilensky born in 1881, married Bloome Miller and lived in USA.
They had 7 daughters: Libby (b. 1905), Rose (b. 1906), Bessie (b. 1908), Ann (b. 1910),
Saralyn (b. 1912), Bertha (b. 1917) and Billye (b. 1922).
Their descendants are the Coplin, Wolff, Ashendorf, Brody, Lincove, Horowitz, Baker and Bronstein families.
